Studio Production Classes

Course Description

Course Title: Introduction to Studio Production

Course Description:
Introduction to Studio Production is a hands-on foundational course designed to introduce participants to the essential skills, roles, and workflows involved in producing studio-based television programming at the Apollo Media Center, metro-Buffalo’s public access television station. This course offers an overview of multi-camera studio production, emphasizing teamwork, technical proficiency, and community storytelling.

Participants will learn the basic operation of studio cameras, lighting, microphones, and audio mixers, as well as the functions of the control room, including switching, graphics, and basic directing. The course also introduces studio etiquette, safety procedures, and various production roles, including producer, director, camera operator, floor manager, and audio technician.

Through guided instruction and supervised practice, students will gain practical experience working in a live or live-to-tape studio environment. Upon completion, participants will be prepared to assist with or produce studio programming in accordance with Apollo Media Center’s policies, technical standards, and mission to amplify local voices.


Learning Objectives:

Adobe Premiere Pro Digital Editing Classes

Course Description

Course Title: Introduction to Adobe Premiere Pro 2026


Course Description:
Introduction to Adobe Premiere Pro 2026 is a hands-on beginner-level course designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of digital video editing using Adobe’s industry-standard non-linear editing software. This course provides a clear and practical foundation for editing video content for public access television, social media, documentaries, interviews, and short-form storytelling.

Students will learn how to navigate the Premiere Pro 2026 interface, import and organize media, assemble sequences, and apply basic editing techniques such as trimming, transitions, and simple effects. The course also introduces essential audio editing tools, basic color correction, titles and graphics, and proper export settings for broadcast and online distribution.

Emphasis is placed on efficient workflow, storytelling through editing, and understanding technical standards appropriate for public access television and community media production. By the end of the course, students will be able to confidently edit a short video project from start to finish using Adobe Premiere Pro 2026.

Course Description

Course Title: Introduction to Adobe Photoshop 2026


Course Description:
Introduction to Adobe Photoshop 2026 is a beginner-level course designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of digital image editing and graphic design using Adobe’s industry-standard software. This course provides a practical foundation for creating and enhancing visual content for television, social media, print, and digital platforms commonly used in public access and community media.


Students will learn to navigate the Photoshop 2026 interface, work with layers, selections, and masks, and apply essential editing techniques such as color correction, retouching, and image enhancement. The course also introduces typography, basic layout principles, and graphic creation for lower-thirds, flyers, thumbnails, and promotional materials.

Emphasis is placed on non-destructive editing, proper image resolution, file formats, and workflows appropriate for broadcast and digital distribution. By the end of the course, students will be able to confidently edit and create professional-quality graphics using Adobe Photoshop 2026.
